Natural face masks have always been an important ingredient to make any day feel like a spa day. We all need some self care every once in a while and whats a better way to take care of yourself and your skin than an all natural face mask? They have been around for hundreds of years and aren’t going away anytime soon. But what we don’t really know is that a lot of masks nowadays at the store can also be harmful for your face and are loaded with chemicals. You also may notice a lot of store bought face masks don’t seem to work as good after the first few times. Not to mention how expensive a good mask can be. But luckily for you I have some amazing recipes that will kick those pricey masks into last year and open you up to a world of natural face masks using some ingredients you can even find in your kitchen. 

 

The History Of Face Masks

 

Face masks have been around for nearly 5,000 years but weren’t in the United States until 1875. They were brought to light by a woman from Ohio named “Madame Helen M Rowely” got her idea of the toilet mask and deemed it for medical purposes. People were in enlightened and loved the thought of face masks. We know today that cosmetic face masks do have amazing healing properties like removing dead skin, hydrating your skin, and removing unneeded oils and can be used for both men and women.

4 Natural Face Mask Recipes with Great Results!!

Green Tea Retreat Face Mask

 

This face mask is amazing for hydrating and toning your skin and will become extremely addictive. The turmeric works as an anti-inflammatory and can clear up any irritation on your face. It only takes about 5 minutes to make. 

Ingredients:

  • (1 tbsp) Plain Yogurt 
  • (1 tbsp) Turmeric Rhizome Powder
  • (1 tbsp) Raw Honey 
  • (½ tbsp) Aloe Vera      

 Directions: In a small bowl mix up all the ingredients well. Afterward wash your face with warm water, pat dry and apply the mask to your face for approximately 15 minutes. Then wash it off with warm water and pat dry. 

 

Rose, Oat & Honey Face Mask

 

This natural face mask is great for acne prone skin. It has properties of an anti-inflammatory and can help with rosacea skin types. This recipe makes a very good amount for you to share with your friends or save for later.

Ingredients:

  • (¼ tbsp) Finely Ground Oatmeal or Oat Flour 
  • (2 ½ tbsp) Rose Petal Powder
  • (2 tbsp) Rhassoul Clay
  • (2 tbsp) Raw Honey
  • (2 tbsp) Warm Water

Directions: Start by mixing the Finely Ground Oatmeal, Rose Petal Powder, and Rhassoul Clay together in a small bowl. Then Mix the Honey and Warm Water together until it dissolves then mix the dry ingredients in with it. Mix until it’s a paste with no visible ingredients showing. Add water until you get you the texture you’d like. Apply to face (avoiding eye area) and leave it on for about 15-20 minutes until it dries. Then rinse with warm water and pat dry your face. 



Blackhead Breakthrough Face Mask

 

This natural face mask is great for pesky blackheads and acne prone skin because of the rhassoul clay. It can also reduce the chances of breakouts and soothe any irritation on your face. This mask can be used 2 times a week. You will notice a difference to your skin almost immediately.

Ingredients: 

  • (1 tbsp) Rhassoul Clay
  • (2 tbs) Lavender Hydrosol
  • ( 1 ½ tbsp) Blueberry Seed Oil

 

Directions: First pour the lavender into a small bowl. Add the clay and let it sit for about 4 minutes. After that stir them together until well mixed then add the blueberry oil and stir again. Apply it to your face dry and leave it to sit for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry your face. Follow with your favorite moisturizer. 

 

Sweet Wine Face Mask 

 

Red wine for natural face masks

 

This natural face mask has to be one of my favorites. Who doesn’t love an excuse to pop open a bottle of your favorite red wine? This mask screams SPA DAY! It’s very simple to make and you will be happy you did. It’s a great one for someone battling dry skin and searching for more vibrant skin. 

Ingredients:  

  • (2 tbsp) Red Wine
  • (1 tbsp) Raw Honey
  • (½ tbsp) Ground Chia Seed

 

Directions: Most importantly Pour yourself a glass of red wine… then get to it! Start by mixing your wine and honey together in a small bowl. Then add the Ground Chia Seeds and mix well. You can adjust the consistency of the mask by adding more Honey or Chia Seed. Apply a thin layer (avoiding the eyes) and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry. Then follow with your  favorite moisturizer. 

Aloe natural face mask

The ingredients in the natural face masks and how they work!

 

  1. Plain Yogurt: Exfoliant that dissolves dead skin cells leaving your face looking shiny and radiant.
  2. Turmeric Rhizome Powder: Clears up breakouts and reduces scarring. Soothes inflammation.
  3. Raw Honey: Great cleanser! Clears out pores and treat bacteria on your face. Activates your skin.
  4. Aloe Vera: Deep moisturizer that can help with sun exposure, acne, and other skin conditions.
  5. Finley Ground Oatmeal: Exfoliant cleaner that removes dirt and can soothe irritated skin.
  6. Rose Petal Powder: Anti-inflammatory properties and great toner.
  7. Rhassoul Clay: Clears out pores and fights against acne. This is IT! Replace your face wash with this!
  8. Lavender Hydrosol: Anti-bacteria cleanser.
  9. Blueberry Seed Oil: Keeps skin looking young and clear. Helps repair skin and lightens wrinkles.
  10. Red Wine: Cleanser that takes care of pores and tones your face. Removes dead skin gently.
  11. Ground Chia Seed: Regenerates your face by passing vitamins through the skin. Brand new skin.
